Where do we Source Love?

Where do we Source Love?

What a great question, right? Particularly in a world where the word love is truly overused to express a liking of shoes or cars, fondness of food, or passion for a hobby. We say we love these things, but can we truly love a pair of sneakers or a delicious meal? I think the world uses the word love to show a great fondness for anything that provides a brief moment of joy. But true love is reserved for the people in our lives and the ways we connect with them. So again, "where do we source love?" Most of us, myself included, still have much to learn about love. Not necessarily the meaning, that’s simple. But how to live a life of love - that’s the hard part.

You see, in our logo, we have an infinity sign with a heart tucked in the center. That stands for the unquantifiable amount of love we have to serve, which we do. We say that food is just a catalyst to start a relationship, but then to truly deepen the relationship we must feed it unquantifiable love. And after 3 years of covid and our team growing closer than ever, believing in and working toward our purpose to feed the world unquantifiable love, I now realize that we fell short of that goal.

How? Because we always talked about feeding and delivering love, but it seems this love was to magically appear out of thin air, unlike the food we supply. Think about it. If the food we supply has to be inventoried, we must also stock and inventory a great amount of love. And in order to inventory food products, we must have a source for these products. But then we must also have a source for the love we have to deliver. And that was the problem. We thought love just happens magically by working hard, passionately and honestly, putting 100% into work, and being extremely dedicated. That’s wrong. The source of love has got to come from the lives we live, outside of work.

So where is this love we are supposed to find in our everyday lives, how is it made, where does it grow? Simply, true love is being selfless in all we do. Putting others first above all, our families, our friends, the cashier at the line at the supermarket. By putting others first in all we do, we develop this great sense of purpose and fulfillment that gives birth to our self-love. To know we are doing right by the world, making it a better place. To love means to serve from the heart. By listening, by smiling, by being kind and compassionate. By standing strong to support others, by being positive when we are confronted with adversity and encouraging others to find the courage they need to face these challenges as well. Sometimes, even just by being there for someone in their time of need. By respecting a difference of opinion and letting someone know that their opinion is respected and valued. That they have the right to express themselves without being judged. Love, simply put, is to serve selflessly in every aspect of our lives. To serve humbly, thinking of ourselves with confidence, but less than we think of others.

Then and only then, can we develop an unlimited inventory of love in our hearts that we can bring into our workplace and translate to our daily duties. Not the other way around. Love comes from our homes. Whether, we live with our parents, our roommates, by ourselves, or with our spouses and children. Love must be born there first and foremost. That’s where our life begins after all. And if you are lonely, which I know can be very tough, then love the person you feel closest to and put them first.

To love is to serve from our heart. God knows we need a world with much greater love today. And while many speak hopelessly of our future, I firmly believe that love is the answer to it all. In the words of Wonder Woman: “Love can save the world.”

With all my love,
