    Steen's

Steen's was established in 1910 as a true family business, with C. S. Steen working alongside his wife and children to expand and build the business each and every year. By 1936 the mill was processing about 10,000 tons of cane into syrup annually. By 1983, all four of the children took over the business, forming an official partnership. They worked together, building and growing the business until 1946, when the business had become so large it was necessary to form a corporation. Eventually, the ownership was passed to the wife and son of C. S. Steen Jr. They added their contributions until 1974 when Wesley retired. As of today, Albert C. Steen, Sr. leads the family business, carrying on his ancestors’ traditions by continuing to hand-plant sugar cane and maintaining a pure product, adding nothing to his syrup just like grandpa Steen.
