    La Baleine

La Baleine was founded in Montpellier in 1934, choosing Benjamin Raber’s drawing of a whale as their logo. The drawing of the whale was inspired by one of Benjamin’s favorite characters: Gédéon crosses the Atlantic. La Baleine decided on a whale to both represent sea salt and defend it against the Lion, symbol of refined “land” salt from the Franche-Comté region. After decades of growth, today La Baleine is an established brand with a presence in over 40 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, and America.
