In 1956 Marvin Eisenstadt joined his father’s sugar packing business and took full advantage of the opportunity provided when a local restaurant asked for a less processed sugar to satisfy some health conscious customers. After a trip to the tropics, he returned with a delicious Turbinado sugar that he named In The Raw. This was the just the beginning, as In The Raw had prepared Marv and his family for the boom in sugar consumption in the late 1990’s when many coffee houses made use of the little brown packets. As In The Raw grew in popularity, Marv, his sons Steven and Jeff, and his son-in-law Michael continued adding products to the In The Raw line, continuing to provide support for those looking for healthier sugars and natural products to use in their recipes.
