    San Pellegrino was founded in 1899, and over the following year they bottled 35,343 bottles of their mineral water, shipping 5,562 abroad. By 1901, San Pellegrino opened up the San Pellegrino Bath Facilities and the Refreshment Hall, thriving due to the combination of their holiday resort and bottling business. In 1906, San Pellegrino commissioned architect Romolo Squadrelli to build a Liberty-style building that would become a grand hotel and casino frequented by royalty, ministers, diplomats, and top figured from every field.
