About Our Service

Our Service Philosophy

Trust
We believe that gaining the Trust of the customer is the most important aspect of our service. We do so by building confidence through being consistently reliable and dependable in our service and quality of product. We believe we grow their trust by offering transparency through 100% honest approach and never compromising the integrity of our promise.

Professionalism
We believe we must always provide a professional experience in our interaction with the customer. We believe we can do so by:
  1. Offering respect always, regardless of title, position or size of the account. Every customer deserves our utmost respect.
  2. Being knowledgeable of our products and services. We must be experts of our industry.
  3. Consistently providing both timely and accurate information and deliveries.
  4. Selling products of great quality that are fresh and we would proudly serve at our own family’s table.

Partnership
We believe we must be a true partner to our customers, not just a mere vendor. As a true partner, we have a moral responsibility to uphold our part of the business relationship to the best of our ability. To be a great partner, we believe we must:
  1. Be thoroughly involved in each of our customers’ business and treat it as our own.
  2. Personalize our service to each of their needs.
  3. Always have the customers’ best interest at heart and try to balance it with the best interest of our company, but ultimately, we must never compromise their livelihood.
  4. Know their personal vision and goals so we may best serve them. This includes concepts & financial performance.
  5. Remain competitive and relevant to always ensure their financial success.

Communication
We believe every great relationship is founded on great communication; hence this must be an everyday focus in our operation. To do this, we will try our best everyday by:
  1. Being empathetic. As partners, we always put ourselves in the customers’ shoes to understand their needs and situations. As the family that we are, regardless of how difficult the request may be, we respond in a friendly, polite and caring manner.
  2. Being clear. We must know exactly what the customer is requesting and hence provide exactly what they are looking for.
  3. Being concise. Only tell the customer what they need to know. Do not provide unnecessary confusing information. Be straight to the point.
  4. Being accurate. As experts, the information we provide to the customer must always be correct. In the case, we are unsure, or need extra time to search the correct information, we clearly state this to the customer. But we never provide inaccurate information.
  5. Being timely. We must always respond to the customer fast and promptly without compromising accuracy. We always communicate any changes to what they are expecting to receive or should receive ahead of time. We never give the customer surprises (except for presents).
  6. Remaining Polite. We are the epitome of professionalism. Regardless of the request or situation, we always respond with kindness and graciousness.

Our Promise

Our Father believed family comes first And that treating customers like family, Is the recipe for success.

That’s why, when Gaucho Gourmet – now Food Related, opened its doors, We knew it was about a lot more than just starting a business.
It was about living up to the family name. About building long-lasting relationships, And earning customer trust.
That’s why when you give us a call, place an order online, Or you walk into our warehouse, We’ll always go out of our way to find what you need. Whether it’s down the aisle or on the other side of the world.
Because we know that if we do what's best for our customers, And they're satisfied with their experience, They’re most likely to come back.
So, whether we are selecting a product, adding a new member to our fast-growing family, or sending an order to one of our many customers, That’s our promise.

To always, always ask ourselves, Is that how Dad would’ve done it?

Our Story

In 1992, our father started an online retail store called Gaucho Gourmet. He started small, selling mostly Yerba Mate, a health packed tea from our native Argentina, and Mate accessories. The idea took off, and before long, Manuel was growing a family of customers all over the country and our local San Antonio area. He expanded his inventory to include other imported and specialty foods from Europe and South America. Gaucho Gourmet thrived, and by the time he passed in 2007, Manuel had built a family of over 10,000 customers.

The business was taken over by his 3 sons: Luciano, Juan Manuel, and Raul, who continued to nurture their father’s legacy. As local business continued to increase, the brothers expanded into the wholesale market. Because of the support we received from the community, we were able to partner with wholesale clients in Austin, the Hill Country, and beyond. The success of the wholesale expansion allowed us to move into our current warehouse in Schertz, TX and continue to grow an inventory far beyond our original specialty of Argentinian, Spanish, and Italian food products.

We soon realized the name Gaucho Gourmet did not tell our full story. We are no longer just a specialty food vendor. We needed to reflect in our name the values our father instilled in us, but also reflect our present and future. So, in 2019, Gaucho Gourmet was officially reborn as Food Related. As we continue this incredible journey, grow our family ever larger, and expand our inventory to meet our customer’s needs, rest assured that one thing will never change: the passion and unquantifiable amount of love we put into our work and our family. Because at the end of the day, we are here to serve, just like dad would have.
