    Frantoi Cutrera

Frantoi Cutrera has devoted itself to olive cultivation and olive oil production since 1906, with generations of the Cutrera family carrying out their duties with love and dedication. Giovanni Cutrera, the head of the family at the time, and his wife Maria founded the company’s first mill in 1979, using his experience growing up working in an old mill that used millstones and mules to press olives in the process. As demand for Frantoi Cutrera’s oil has grown, the children of Giovanni and Maria have joined in the family business, helping them to open the second mill in 1999. Since 2000, Maria, Giusy, and Salvatore, Giovanni and Maria’s children, have jointly managed the business with their spouses, working with local producers to market their phenomenal olive oil outside of their local market so they can share it with the world at large. The current generation of Cutrera’s manages to distinguish their family business by making use of the legacy of principles, values, and knowledge left by the two previous generations of the family. With a dedication to the past and an eye towards the future, Frantoi Cutrera balances innovation with tradition as they make use of organic farming methods and hand harvest their olives from their approximately 5,000 acres of land before sending the olives to one of 3 family-owned mills for pressing and extraction.
