After Benny and Lori Krieger returned to their small town Texas roots, leaving corporate Washington, D.C. careers, Lori developed a hobby that would eventually become the launching point for Taste Elevated. After struggling for years to store an abundance of figs from the family’s two fig trees each harvest, Lori began using the figs to make a fig chutney that was a combination of diverse ingredients in an unusual harmony: a reflection of the Kriegers themselves. Driven by an intense desire to create, the family vehicle had many additional miles added after the Kriegers spent countless trips looking for the perfect ingredients. After putting in countless late nights working hard to develop the chutney, it was clear that this hobby was something special, and Taste Elevated was officially born. With their products elevating any dish to another level, Taste Elevated has won awards in both New York and San Francisco, with features in Food and Wine Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and many Texas publications.
